A key element of ensuring the wellbeing of the children in our care is through ensuring they are safe. We call this our safeguarding programme. Safeguarding is integrated into every level of operation in the College, from our hiring processes through to signage, staff training and pupil education on their own safety.
Our staff are trained on how to identify signs that a child may require support and know how to appropriately and sensitively deliver that support. We have a trained team of Designated Safeguarding Leads who act as the key contact people for all safeguarding related matters, and ensure that throughout the College, our safeguarding practices are meeting world standards.
Note: Wellington College Hangzhou is totally committed to safeguarding the welfare of children and young people and expects the same from its employees. All new staff will be subject to enhanced pre-employment clearance, including identity checks, criminal background checks, qualifications checks and employment checks to include an explanation of any gaps in employment.
